LISBON — The Community Action Agency of Columbiana County’s health, behavioral health and dental centers is taking some of its services and hitting the road, thanks to the agency’s newest addition — a fully loaded mobile unit.
Coming to area communities this week, CAACC’s new mobile unit is a nearly 38-foot-long recreational vehicle that will house two exam rooms, a lab area and a bathroom, along with other amenities that patients can use for services such as medical exams , dental procedures and behavioral health services.
Made in Columbus, Ohio, the CAACC’s mobile unit will feature artwork on each side depicting the rural Columbiana County countryside.
“We have wanted to offer our services through a mobile unit for several years and we are excited to be able to offer this to area communities,” said Jenna Wonner, CAACC’s Chief Operating Officer.
The search for this mobile unit began in March 2021, according to Wonner. She and CAACC CEO Thomas Andrews toured the factory site where the recreational vehicle was made.

“We chose to purchase the unit from LifeLineMobile in Columbus, Ohio. The company is family owned and manufactures mobile units for the healthcare industry nationwide in their 100,000+ square foot facility,” Andrews said.
Providing safe, high-quality, comprehensive and affordable health care to our communities has always been the mission of the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County Health, Behavioral Health and Dental Centers, according to Wonner.
CAACC’s mobile unit’s first stop today is at the East Liverpool Head Start Centre.
“And now an additional goal with CAACC’s mobile unit is to have it on the road five days a week, to be in our communities, to give as many people as possible access to CAACC’s services,” Wonder said.
In the near future, administrators hope to have CAACC’s mobile unit at school districts, community events and fairs and at local parks, where services such as vaccinations, health screenings/Wellkind exams, health education, counseling and blood pressure testing as well as dental cleanings and fluoride treatments are available to the public. would be set.
“Our goal is to move into smaller communities where families don’t have access to quality health and dental care,” Andrews said.
Currently, CAA’s Federally Qualified Health Centers provide quality and affordable comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health services at locations in East Liverpool, Lisbon and Salineville. A sliding fee scale is based on each patient’s income and family size, and services are provided to patients regardless of ability to pay.
